Columbia Basin Fly Casters

Club Meeting June 8, 2010

Our June meeting speaker will be Joe Kassuba, owner and manager of HIS Rod Shop in Kennewick

Joe is an excellent rod builder and a relatively new member to the Columbia Basin Fly Casters.  Joe is going to be speaking on rod construction and the impacts of methods and materials. Even if you are not a rod builder, for those of you who heard Joe speak several years ago, he will include in his message his unique method of grading rods for weight using pennies. If you went home and applied this method to gage your rods, there might have been surprises for you, as well as some discoveries why your rod and line combination wasn't as effective as you might have assumed.

This is the opportunity to learn how to simply grade your rod weight so that you can obtain a better match of line to rod to improve your casting ability and line control. So don't miss this part of the presentation.

Columbia Basin Fly Casters

The Columbia Basin Fly Casters is an organization dedicated to the sport of fly fishing.  We are interested in developing the sport and preserving the waters and habitat that make fishing possible. The Club was formed by a small group of fly fishers in 1978, and has continued to grow to our present count of over 100 members.  Our membership is comprised of fly fishers, young and old, men and women, experts and beginners, who all have a broad range of interest and backgrounds.
