Mark your new 2009 calendars for our annual banquet at the Meadow Springs Country Club in Richland. Joining us will be Dave Hughes editor of FLYFISHING &TYING JOURNAL and author of more than 20 books about fly fishing for trout. Dave is an accomplished amateur aquatic entomologist. His hobbies include collecting, identifying, and photographing aquatic insects that are fed upon by trout, as well as tying and fishing the flies that match those insects. Dave will conduct an afternoon fly tying session (free) from 1pm-3pm. Evening festivities begin at 5:30pm with fun filled raffles and no-host social hour. Tickets for the evening meal and program are $40 each plate. The always excellent buffet meal begins at 6:30pm. This year we will have parmesan crusted halibut with lemon caper sauce and Tender beef steak with mushroom cabernet sauce. 
Accompaniments include mixed greens salad, roasted red potatoes, vegetables, rolls and dessert. Coffee and ice tea are included. The cash bar will remain open until our speaker’s presentation begins. You may bring your own wine but must pay a $14 corkage fee. An accurate dinner count assists our costs as the club must pay for any meals ordered but not served. Please pre purchase your tickets to reserve your dinner. If you need to wait until the week of the event to decide if you are attending please call Denny and pledge your intent to attend. We will announce a final count date in the February newsletter. Awards and Recognitions follow dinner as well as more drawings. Then Dave (photo above) will share his photos and insights about trout fishing “Small Streams.” The CBFC Fly Collection drawings will closeout the evening. New members take note. This is a fun time for all regardless of fishing level or interest. Raffles (both silent and special purchased tickets) and drawings include fly collections tied by members, trips, outstanding gear, outdoors themed items and a few surprises. Tickets will be available at the next monthly meetings and other outlets. Those that purchase their tickets by the end of Tuesday, February 10th (club meeting) qualify for a special Early Bird incentive drawing. A final note, Meadow Springs Country Club dress code does not allow blue jeans.
