The club meets the second Tuesday of each month (except during July and August). We meet at the CG Public House at 9221 West Clearwater Avenue. Many members come early to socialize during the “Wet Fly” which starts at 6:00 p.m. The “Wet Fly” is followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. The cost of dinner is $18 per person. You are welcome to come for just the meeting that gets underway at approximately 7:15 p.m. Please park in the rear and you can go through the back door which will take you directly into the Event Center.
Our monthly speaker(s) will be Dave and Mary Ann Dozer with a presentation on Euronymphing. French or Czech style nymphing are flyfishing methods prevalent in European waters, and is essentially a technique involving longer and lighter rods, long leaders and heavily weighted flies, bouncing the fly along the bottom of a stream with a tight line from reel to fly. It can be used as a searching technique to find holding fish, or as a primary fishing method.
Dave is a native of Richland, and he and Mary Ann currently live in Sisters, Oregon. Dave has been a fly fisher and tier for fifty years and fishes the Pacific Northwest, northern California and British Columbia. Dave has been our speaker before with a presentation on bamboo as a builder and fisher with those rods. Mary Ann is a FFI International Master Casting Instructor, guides in central Oregon, and is a member of the Winston Pro-Staff as a result of her casting skills.
Join us at the November 12th meeting at CG Public House and learn more about Euronymphing from Dave and Mary Ann.
NOTE: Please call Rich Holten at (509) 521-4291 if you are planning to have dinner and haven’t provided previous notice that you plan to eat. This allows the CBFC to provide the CG Public House with an accurate count of those having a dinner and ensures everyone gets to enjoy a full meal.
